        Do these QR codes expire?

        No — and they can't. This studio only makes static codes: the content is encoded into the pattern itself, not stored on our server behind a redirect. There is no trial, no subscription, and nothing anyone can switch off. The code works as long as whatever it points to (your website, your Wi-Fi network) works.

        Then why did my last "free" QR code stop working?

        You were most likely given a dynamic code: one that points at the generator's redirect server. After the trial, the redirect is disabled unless you subscribe, which is painful if the code is already printed. Dynamic services are legitimate when you truly need editable-after-print codes — but that trade-off should be chosen knowingly, not discovered after the print run.

        Where does my data go?

        Nowhere. The encoder is ~30 KB of JavaScript running on your device. Wi-Fi passwords, contact cards and CSV files are processed in memory and never transmitted. No account, no cookies, no analytics scripts. Load the page once and it even works offline.

        What does the Scan Safety score check?

        The seven things that actually cause failed scans: contrast between the two colours, inverted polarity, a shaved quiet zone, logo coverage beyond the error-correction budget, payload density, risky module shapes, and printed module size for your scanning distance. Green means scan-proof.

        Which file format should I download?

        SVG for designers and print shops (infinitely sharp), PDF for exact physical size on paper, PNG for screens, documents and quick use — exported here with a real DPI tag so 300 dpi print workflows place it at the correct size.

        How is this free? What's the catch?

        There is no catch to hide — static QR generation costs us nothing per code because your browser does the work. GenerateQR is part of plainforge, a small studio of privacy-first tools; if we ever add sponsorship it will be clearly labelled, never tracking-based, and the generator stays free and static forever.
